Still Friends? (Jaiden x James) - Chapter 9: Sleepover (2024)

Jaiden's POV
I can't believe I'm thinking about doing this. Should I? What if he says no or "that's weird" or something? Sigh. You know what? I haven't been able to spend time with him like we used to. You only live once. I'm going for it.

*text*

Jaiden: Hey James!

James: Hey Jaiden!

Jaiden: So I was wondering.

James: Wondering what?

Jaiden: If you'd wanna have a Gordon Ramsay binge watch sleepover?

James: That sounds awesome! What time?

Jaiden: Noice. Later tonight. Any time then will be good.

James: Sounds good!

Jaiden: See you then James!

James: See you then nerd.

Jaiden: I'm the only one that can call YOU nerd.

James: Yeah okay.

Jaiden: Whatever! See you then!

James: See you then!

James: ...........nerd.

Jaiden: James Rallison, I will beat you up when I see you later today.

James: I'd like to see you try.

Jaiden: Don't test me. I will.

James: We'll see about that.

James' POV
Wow. Jaiden invited me to her house for the first time in a long time. In fact. I haven't even seen her new house in LA. I wonder how it looks. We'll see.

*time skip to around 7:30 pm*

James put on a casual outfit to go to Jaiden's. He walked out the door, got in his car, and texted Jaiden.

James: Hey real quick what's the address?

Jaiden: 4321 Wattpad Dr. (soo creative)

James: Thank youuu.

James' POV
I didn't realize how close her house was to mine. Literally just ten minutes away. Convenient.

James soon arrived at Jaiden's house. It was pretty big.

*knock knock knock*

Jaiden: Hey James!

James: And you said my place was big. I'm living with Adam. You're living alone.

Jaiden: Pfft. It's not that big.

James: Yeah okay.

Jaiden: Do you wanna come in nerd? Ha gotcha.

James: Not now nope.

James dramatically ran away like it was a scene from a movie in slow motion. They bursted out in laughter. They both went inside.

Jaiden: Let Gordon Ramsay...........begin!

James: Wow!

Jaiden: Three bowls of popcorn and snacks, a big screen to watch Gordon Ramsay on, and our eyes to be ruined by the end of the night!

James: Amazing!

They got through the entire series of kitchen nightmares. Jaiden was starting to doze off. She was leaning on James' shoulder unconsciously. James didn't mind though. He blushed. It wasn't as fun to watch Gordon Ramsay without Jaiden awake so he paused it. "Jaiden" he whispered. Do you wanna go to your bed? She woke up.

Jaiden: Huh? Oh yeah. Where do you wanna sleep? On the couch, on the air mattress, on the floor?

They both giggled.

James: I'll do the air mattress if that's okay.

Jaiden: Sure!

Jaiden signaled for James to follow her so he did. They got to a closet door where there was a dusty air mattress box inside.

Jaiden: Can you help me pull it out?

James: Haha yeah.

They both pulled with all of their strength but failed to get the box out. They tried again and again.

James: I....think....you.......need......to clean.....your closet.

Jaiden: Don't judge me.

James: I'm *grunt* judging you.

As James was saying that he was able to pull it out and it fell right on.

Jaiden couldn't stop laughing.

James: It's not fUnNy

Jaiden: No, it's hilarious.

She resumed laughing.

James: LET'S JUST BLOW THE STUPID MATTRESS UP

Jaiden: Okay, okay!

*air mattress pump sound* *ya know that sound*

Jaiden left the room. She came back a few seconds later and threw some blankets on the mattress.

Jaiden: Here ya go! Enjoy!

They started laughing like crazy.

James: Hey Jaiden.

Jaiden: Yeah?

James: You're a great friend.

Jaiden blushed.

Jaiden: Touché.

She punched him in the arm.

Jaiden: Nerd.

James: Fine you get a pass this time.

Jaiden smiled.

She hopped into her bed that was beside the air mattress.

Jaiden: Goodnight James.

James: Goodnight Jaiden.

She turned off the light.

James' POV

I tossed and turned that night. I didn't sleep that well with Jaiden on my mind. I knew I liked her. I knew it from the moment I saw her. Should I tell her? What if she doesn't feel the same way? It would be so awkward. I don't want to ruin anything. Meeting Jaiden was one of the best things that have ever happened to me. I love her. I don't care what anyone says I do. I knew I loved her as a friend. But now it's more than friends. I'm too indecisive for a decision as big as this in my life. I'm not screwing it up. I don't care anymore. I'm confessing tomorrow. No matter what.
