Can you believe it’s back to school time already? School starts next Wednesday and I’m almost done with all of my back to school shopping for the boys. Each year, the teachers send a supply “wish” list for their class. The list contains items that the students will need throughout the year that the school does not provide for them as well as items that the teachers will need that are not in their budget. It’s up to the parents to jump in and help out making sure the classroom is well stocked for the upcoming school year.

As you can imagine, there are many families that are unable to provide for their children. We live in a diverse area where there are some very affluent families as well as families that are struggling financially. Many of us parents make an effort to bring in double, triple or even more of the requested items so that certain children are not a disadvantage to start the year.

I have always loved that our school is a uniform school because it sets the tone for equality and I think that by all children starting the year with the same supplies in their desk whether their parents were able to afford them or not is very important.

I’ve always been very interested in school programs. You know, those programs where you buy certain items and a percentage goes to your school? I recently discovered theTyson Project A+ program and have been very impressed. I really love how the program is designed with flexibility in mind. For ever label that is sent in, Tyson gives your school 24¢ and it’s up to your school to use the money for whatever they need. Makes sense, right?

The packaging makes it really easy to see what products are participating in the program and as a mom who frequently buys Tyson, I can see how quickly clipping labels could add up to really helping out our school. Heck! A box of crayons can be purchased for 50¢!!

Signing up your school or checking to see if they are already participating is super easy to do. Just head on over and click on Look Up Your School. If they’re already enrolled – great! If not, just click on Enroll Now! to quickly enroll your school in the program.

To enroll your school in the Tyson Project A+ program you only need some very basic information about your school. I found the information I needed on our school’s website. If your child’s school is not already enrolled I would encourage to take the steps to do so. Once enrolled it’s easy peasy to start earning money for your school.

Tyson is really an amazing company and their products are ones that I love because they make my life easier. I am particularly in love with the Tyson Grilled & Ready products (look for the green packaging) and that’s exactly what I used in these delicious Southwest Chicken Calzones. You can use virtually any of the chicken breast products but theGrilled & Ready® Fully Cooked Frozen Oven Roasted Diced Chicken Breast or theGrilled & Ready® Fully Cooked Frozen Southwestern Chicken Breast Strips are ideal.
